SAVE this post and enjoy chatting with your little ones about Ravana!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. HOW DID HE MEET HIS END?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>However, in his arrogance, he did not ask for protection from mortal men. Eventually, this is how he met his end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. SIGNIFICANCE OF HIS TEN HEADS<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The ten heads signify his knowledge of the six shastras and the four Vedas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. WHO WAS RAVANA?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ravana was a demon king of the island Lanka. He was a renowned scholar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. HOW DID HE GET HIS POWERS?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After many years of intense penance, Lord Shiva was pleased with him and offered him a boon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. LESSON LEARNED<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ego kills. For all of his knowledge, strength, and power, it was Ravana&#8217;s ego that led to his ultimate downfall. Lord Ravana&#8217;s story shows our children that humility is more important than any other virtue. Asking Lord Shiva for protection from the gods, he never thought that a mere man would kill him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matrimonyindians.com\/matrimony-blog\/5-things-kids-should-learn-about-ravana\/\">The 10 faces of Ravana<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em><strong>Ninda Mukh: <\/strong>Ravana used to criticize others. We said that he would never ask anyone to give up \u2018Nidra (sleep) but urged listeners to totally give up \u2018Ninda\u2019 (criticizing others). In the Ram Charita Manas it is written, \u2018Par ninda sam agha na garisa\u2019 (there is no sin an equal to being critical of others) (Ram Charita Manas, Uttar Kaand \u2013 121. A -11)<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Mukharta:<\/strong> Ravana was extremely vocal. He spoke endlessly. Any person who speaks in excess becomes less committed to dialogue and more involved in dispute. Speaking too much is like a disease.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Jalpana or Vitandavaad Mukh<\/strong> \u2013 These are archetypal words which mean to utter nonsense. Many a times Ravana spoke ill thought out or fanatical words.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Aham Garjan Mukh<\/strong> \u2013 Ravana\u2019s were egoistic declarations.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Pralapa Mukh<\/strong> \u2013 We explained that this is a typical state when there is so much anger in us that one\u2019s eyes are filled with rage that cause tears.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Asatya Mukh:<\/strong> Ravana spoke lies several times.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Durmukh:<\/strong> When one is filled with the feeling of revenge, the expression on the face is Durmukh.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Grass Mukh: <\/strong>A Bhogi (enjoyer of pleasure) wants to consume everything.&nbsp;<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Bhim Mukh:<\/strong> This represents fierceness or ferocity.<\/em><\/li><li><em><strong>Veda Mukh:<\/strong> This is Ravana\u2019s only sweet and positive face.
